the centres with circular medallions painted to simulate cameos of Roman Emperors 'TRAJAN' and 'JULES CESAR', titles to sides, reserved upon a brown marbled ground within a gilded anthemion border, the rims with a light claret ground reserving further shaded anthemion borders picked out in gilding, both with interlaced LL mark in pale-blue containing fleur-de-lys and indistinct date numeral 21, one plate with workman's mark h, incised fc(?), decorator's mark in gilding 29 JR.19, the other workman's mark r, incised DS 10, DC, decorator's mark DB 11 91 18,

Condition

The plate with 'Jules Cesar', in very good condition, no damage noted. The plate with 'Trajan', with small shallow glaze flake, possibly in manufacture, which has been colour filled.
