Description
- Gold, enamel, ruby and diamond
Of stylised foliate design, set with oval and circular-cut rubies, circular-cut, cushion-shaped and rose diamonds, applied with blue enamel, opening to reveal a glass compartment enclosing a lock of hair to one side, and the engraving 'Affetto Sincero' to the other, inner circumference approximately 150mm, one diamond deficient.
Condition
Accompanied by SSEF report no. 83212, stating that the rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating.
Rubies of purplish red, transparent, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, abrasions to facet edges and some small chips consistent with the age and wear. Diamonds bright and lively. One rose diamond deficient to rear. Blue enamel badly damaged throughout the bangle with large sections missing. Scratches to metal consistent with wear. Secure clasp.
