Description

Of open work design set with variously cut emeralds, green beryls and seed pearls, centring on a claw-set cabochon emerald, accented with black enamel, the lower section hinged.

Condition

Accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report no. 12644, stating that the central emerald is of Colombian origin, with moderate clarity enhancement. Central emerald of medium green, transparent, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye. Other emeralds and green beryl of mixed light and medium greens, typical inclusions visible to the naked eye, abrasions to facet edges consistent with ages and wear. Seed pearls, cream colour, baroque shapes, medium lustre, uneven nacre. Enamel in good condition. Secure clasp and brooch hoop. Scratches to metal consistent with wear. Brooch measuring approximately 118 x 56 mm.
