Condition
-Paper has turned yellowish due to age. Creases, a crack at the top left of the second scroll, and minor cracks at both scrolls can be found, which have been improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in fair condition.

註：黃秋岳集宋詞入聯，得陳師曾、梁啟超二人啟發，始於一九二七年，掇拾姜夔詞句為長聯。既以自娛遣悶，復得友人稱賞，遂多作贈友儕，如胡適、梅蘭芳等。
本聯取自南宋吳文英（1200-1260）詞。宋人張炎有評云「吳夢窗詞如七寶樓臺，炫人眼目」，故秋岳有「碎折七寶樓臺」之說。上聯抒湖山之慨，下聯寫世局遽變，所謂「弔淪胥之關塞」，乃指一九三一年「九．一八事變」，國運日蹙，其居國府官職，更敏感時事，所謂「哀時語料」，即意在此。同年八月，他出任行政院秘書處秘書，九月八日南下覆命，本聯正此時所撰。
