4 volumes (volumes 1-3 and appendix to volume 2), 8vo (232 x 150mm). Half-titles. With 47 engraved plates and 7 (of 8 - lacking General chart) folding maps in cover pockets; plates foxed (primarily at fore-edge), plates in vol 1 with dampstain at inner lower corner, folding maps foxed. Contemporary ownership inscriptions in vols 1 & 2. Original cobalt-blue blind-stamped cloth; spines sunned, with splits in cloth, vol 2 lacking upper panel of  backstrip, backstrip of vol 3 partially detached.
