Description

- Italian, in Romanesque style
Condition
There is some weathering to the surface of the stone consistent with placement outdoors. This has led to a dry surface with some lacunae in the stone. There are chips and abrasions throughout, in particular to snouts, the high points, and the bottom edges. There is some minor greening to the stone in particular to the lion's faces. One of the lions has an area of oxidised metal staining to the proper left hind leg. There is also a small area of fill at the centre of this area. There is some dark staining in areas. Otherwise the condition is good, with some general wear and dirt consistent with age.
