Description
- Bishop Saint, possibly Saint Nicholas

- Southern German or Austrian, 17th century
Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is evidence of past worming, in particular on the reverse. There is minor, stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material. There is wear to the gilding and the polychromy throughout, notably to the high points and to the proper right cheek. There are losses to two of the fingers on the proper right hand and the tip of the little finger is possibly reattached. There is some glue residue visible on the back of the figure. A section on the proper left side is carved separately.
