"Un simple trait de crayon peut évoquer un élément comme l’eau. C’est la raison pour laquelle je m’éloigne du naturalisme, du purement figuratif. Je ne souhaite pas représenter la nature telle qu’elle nous apparaît, d’une manière photographique. Au contraire, ce que je veux, en représentant la nature d’une manière allégorique plutôt qu’en trompe-l’œil, c’est arriver à l’essence des choses et provoquer l’émotion."
