Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the tonality towards the edges is brighter and the grey in the centre tends more towards white in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition.

Catalogue Note

Artie Vierkant’s Image Object series engages with one of the most crucial discussions about the intersection of art and the internet: the relation between the virtual nature of online sources and the physical manifestation of art objects. Continuing the discussions around the post-medium condition of art, Vierkant has successfully developed a body of work in which the physical object has become a mere vehicle for its visual dissemination online. Designed in Photoshop and printed on dibond, Image Objects such as the present work circulate in the physical world only to become source images for Photshopped installation shots that the artist releases on the internet, changing them over time through digital manipulation. Embodying notions of ubiquitous authorship and a constant flux of meaning that characterises the circulation of online information, the present work captures the spirit of our contemporary age both conceptually and in its visually striking Photoshop-aesthetic.
