Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is brighter and contains fewer undertones. The paper tone tends more towards soft cream in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The sheet is attached verso to a matte in several places. All four edges are deckled. There is a spot of skinning to the left edge, approximately 20cm from the upper left corner, which is already visible in the catalogue raisonné illustration. All other surface irregularities are likely to be original. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
