Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly lighter in the original.
Condition:
This work is in good condition. There is evidence of wear and light rubbing towards the edges and in a few other places elsewhere. There are a few small and unobtrusive media accretions scattered in isolated places. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals a few small spots of retouching, notably one towards the centre of the composition.

Catalogue Note
“When a picture is silent, it means it is all right. Some of my paintings start making an infernal din. They are explosive. But I am not satisfied until they have become silent. A form must be listened to, not seen.”
