The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is slightly brighter and more vibrant in the original.
Condition:
This work is in good condition. Close inspection reveals networks of hairline cracks following the grain of the wood, which are in keeping with the artist's choice of medium, and some associated small specks of paint loss in places. Further close inspection reveals a few further cracks notably in some of the thicker areas of impasto. Close inspection reveals a chip to the top of the figure's mouth on the reverse of the work. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light.
