Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. There is evidence of light handling along the edges, including minor and unobtrusive hairline craquelure at the pull margins. Under very close inspection, there are a few minor and unobtrusive localized areas of hairline drying cracks in some of the red-painted areas in the left half of the work, all of which appear to be stable. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, there is no evidence of restoration. Framed in artist's frame under glass.

Catalogue Note
"Kahrs's use of glazed frames further underscores our role as spectators. On one hand, it distances us from the scene before us, as though we were watching it through a window or from behind a one-way mirror. On the other hand, the glazed frames implicate us in the images we behold. When we look at these pictures our view of the artist's imagery is always commingled with our own reflections in the glass. The meaning of these paintings then seems to be inextricably entangled with our own presence and our activity of looking."
