The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the paper tone tends more towards cream in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to fully convey the three dimensional nature of the tar on the paper visible in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. The sheet is attached verso to the backing mount in several places and the vertical edges are deckled. There is some light creasing to the two lower corners and two small spots of discolouration towards the centre of the right edge. Some of the thicker elements of the tar have been slightly pressed, which is likely to be inherent to the artist's choice of medium.
