Condition
Overall, the condition of the copper is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the gilding, particularly at the high points, including to the Christ Child, the priest's proper right arm, and the candle sticks of both background figures. There are minor scratches, notably to the gilding in the arches of the architectural background. There is some warping to the metal in areas. There is some minor tarnishing to the gilding, particularly in the crevices
The ebonised wood frame is in good condition, with some wear and dirt, including some chips to the edges and corners. The frame is composed of sections, and joints are visible. The upper joint on the right hand side is slightly open but stable. The modern stand is in a good condition.
