Condition

The canvas has a firm relining, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and slightly uneven. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals retouching throughout the background to the left of and in the foreground beneath the horse, as well as some strengthening around the form of the horse, and in the darks in the dappling of its back legs. In overall good condition.
