Condition
The canvas is lined. Some faint signs of old but stable craquelure in left part of sky, only visible upon close inspection. Surface appears slightly dirty otherwise the work appears in good condition overall.
Ultraviolet light reveals scattered areas of retouching across the surface, although less to the horse itself, and a horizontal line of retouching near centre of lower edge.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
