of typical mitered, mortise and tenon frame construction, the molded frame enclosing a hard mat seat, above a straight waist and simple apron, supported on legs of square section, joined by arched stretchers, and terminating in hoof feet

Condition

There has been general consolidation to the joinery. The replaced hardwood seat is supported by a wood frame on the underside. There are filled splits to the legs and a filled tenon on the frame indicates the possibly reused timber. There is wear overall, particularly to the feet.
