註：沈心海乃晚清人物畫家錢慧安入室弟子，盡得乃師真傳。本幅屬其早歲之作，傳世較為少見，所寫近行樂圖一類。畫中主角之閨秀開臉以寫真技巧描之，輪廓精準，呈立體感，似出於他人手筆；其餘嬉戲的兒童顯見受錢慧安畫風的影響，此即畫家題「補圖」之意。其筆法簡勁俐落，線條流暢。背景杏花、湖石、雕欄，特別是竹簾半捲的處理，精巧細緻，尤見心思，充分反映十九世紀末期海派畫風之時代氣息。
