Description

  • porcelain
sturdily potted, of circular form with a flat everted rim, painted overall with multi-coloured butterflies hovering amigst shuangxi (double-happiness) characters, the rim with further butterflies reserved on a ground of foliage and gourds, a red key-fret band encircling the outer edge

Condition

There is some rubbing to the gilding and light occasional wear to the famille-rose enamels, but overall these have been very well preserved, including on the sides and base.
