Description

  • Rhinoceros horn (Rhinoceros Unicornis)
carved with a slightly furled undulating rim simulating a floral blossom, the undercut handle formed on one side with intertwining stems issuing leaves and millets, the interior centred with a stamen, the horn of a warm brown colour, wood stand

Condition

The overall condition is quite good with only some typical insect holes and age cracks, the longest measuring approx. 2 cm. Sections of the mouth rim might have been slightly polished down. There are also some expected nicks to the extremities, especially to the floret at the top of the handle.
