the vase with an ovoid body surmounted by a short waisted neck and flared rim, applied with a thick brown glaze and reserved-decorated against the buff-coloured body beneath with a foliate scroll between formal borders; the jar similarly decorated with buff-coloured peony scrolls carved through the brown glaze

Condition

There is some pitting to the shoulder of the bottle vase, probably original to the piece, some expected typical imperfections in the carving and the glaze. There is a 1.7 cm shallow flake to the rim of the small jar.
