Description

rising to an indented mouth, resist-decorated with a leaf against a brown-black glaze, the unglazed foot revealing the buff body; the second bowl with a groove to the interior around the mouth, decorated with florets and other motifs reserved in rich dark brown against a speckled toffee-brown ground, irregularly splashed on the exterior with a buff-coloured glaze in imitation of tortoiseshell, the glaze falling short to reveal the buff body

Condition

The papercut-decorated bowl: There is wear and some glaze flakes around the mouth, including a 1.2 by 0.5 cm stabilised glaze flake to the interior of the rim. The leaf bowl: There are glaze flakes around the rim.
