A 'CIZHOU' SGRAFFIATO BLACK-GLAZED VASE JIN DYNASTY

well potted with a pear-shaped form and flared mouthrim, carved through a rich dark brown glaze to the reddish brown body beneath with a broad band of vegetal scrolls and archaistic leiwen encircling the shoulder

There is 2 by 1 cm restoration to the underside of the mouthrim, a few firing imperfections including burst air bubbles and occasional gaps. The vase is otherwise is overall good condition and in an excellent presentation state. The carving is crisp and the glaze and design are particularly attractive.
