There is a light layer of surface dirt to the work, particularly the top of the work, the interior and the red 'lips'. The work exhibits various surface marks, scratches and minor cracks throughout, however these appear to be original to the work and in keeping with its nature as an assemblage of found objects. Many of the plastic 'hairs' of the brush have broken off since the work was made.
