Condition

The sculpture is sound. There are some areas of rubbing to some of the protruding elements, most apparent to the top of the work, and there is a graze to the bronze on the left side of the figure's belly. There is a spot of light scratching to the figure's left flank, as well as a few light scratches to the upper part of the figure's front right leg. In places there are some areas of unevenness to the patina, most apparent to the legs and the base of the work. There are areas of surface dirt to the work, most prominently to the crevices of the cast, and there are some traces of casting matter, most apparent to the underside of the work. There are a couple of very small casting imperfections apparent to the figure's snout, with one or two further casting imperfections visible elsewhere. Subject to the above the work is in very good overall condition. The work is affixed to a rectangular bronze base.
