Condition

The board is sound. There are small flecks of loss around the extreme edges of the board, and the corners are slightly rounded with associated loss to the paint, not visible in the present frame. There are Artist's nailheads in all four corners, as well as in isolated areas along the extreme edges. There are very fine lines of craquelure to the thicker areas of white pigment, only visible upon close inspection. There are a few areas of reticulation to isolated areas of the composition. There is a light layer of surface dirt to the work. Subject to the above the work is in excellent overall condition. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals no obvious signs of restoration or retouching. The work is held within and simple white painted wood frame with a gilt lining.
