Folio (12 1/2 x 8 1/4 in.; 318 x 210 mm). Lacking a total of 36 leaves, including all 5 titles (pi2, A8, B1–7, L8 Aa1, 2A1, 3A1, 3L7–8, 2pi1, 4O–P6), a few tears cutting into text, one corner lost costing the catchword, burn hole on B8 costing a few letters, some light text browning in the latter portion of the text, minor marginal staining chiefly along the bottom and lower outer corner, otherwise a sound copy. Seventeenth-century calf; worn, rebacked, spine ends and a few corners renewed.

William and John Mihill (signatures on Ll6 dated 1720 and 1725; the primitive drawing of St. Paul's Cathedral, London, on Rr6v can most likely be credited to one of the Mihills)

Catalogue Note
Ninth folio edition of the Great Bible version. Called the "Queen Mary Bible," this was the only folio edition published during her reign. According to a manuscript note in the British Library copy, the greater part of the impression was destroyed at her command.
