Description
- ivory, silver, wood scabbard
the gently curved, double-edged tapering watered-steel blade with gold-overlaid decoration, including two inscriptions, the hilt with ivory grips of baluster form secured by silver niello studs, engraved grip-strap, the scabbard carved with bands of nielloed scrolling acanthus on a punched ground, star and moon design at top, with suspension loop
Condition
In good overall condition, some minor patches of oxidisation to the blade, with some abrasion near forte and losses to gold overlay decoration, floral shaped stud on hilt slightly loose, with discoloration underneath them, some hairline scratches to ivory grips on hilt, the scabbard with some minor discoloration and rubbing, as viewed.
