Condition

There are light stretcher marks along the upper and lower margins and towards the center. There are 3 minor and stable craquelures visible only under close inspection towards the center of the upper margin and of the artwork. Under UV light are visible one minor retouch in the blue area and some light scattered wearing marks on the white areas of the upper half of the artwork. A professional condition report is available upon request.

Esposto alla Galleria J di Pierre Restany nel 1965 in occasione della seconda mostra parigina dedicata ai riporti fotografici su tela sensibilizzata, Il Pleut del 1963 appare come la terza opera mai realizzata da Rotella con questa nuova tecnica “fotomeccanica di cui gli artypo rappresentano l’ultimo e definitivo passaggio.

(…) Sempre nel 1965, alla Galleria J Restany organizza la rassegna Hommage à Nicéphore Niépce per documentare gli esiti della Mec-Art. In quell’occasione, il critico francese scriveva: “La vita artistica contemporanea è dominata da una realtà importante: tutti noi assumiamo a qualsiasi livello la presa di coscienza che ci deriva dalla nostra natura moderna industriale e urbana. “
