  • An Egyptian Bronze Figure of the Goddess Mut
  • bronze
  • Height 6 7/8 in. 17.4 cm.
the consort of  Amun and mother of Khonsu, striding on a high rectangular base, and wearing a long close-fitting dress with bands crossing between her breasts, bracelets and armlets, broad beaded collar, striated tripartite wig, vulture headdress, and the crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, her distinctive face with full lips and large eyes with long contoured eyebrows and cosmetic lines.

Condition

Generally excellent. There is a small old nick on the crown, the head of the uraeus appears to be a bit worn, there is a small old nick on the back of the proper right ankle and a small abraded area on the dress just above that. The front tenon under the base is fragmentary.
