Description
- A Fragmentary Roman Marble Relief Head of a Muse

- Height 16 cm. 6 5/16 in.
her heavy lidded eyes with drilled inner corners, incised irises, and drilled circular pupils, an incised line above each eyebrow, her centrally parted hair arranged in two rows of curls above the ear, bound in a fillet and tied in a chignon, traces of a feather above the forehead and of the sarcophagus wall in back; no restorations.

Condition
As shown. Note chips on hair behind proper right ear. Various areas of incrustation especially on hair. Original polish on face. Feather on forehead fragmentary. Proper left cheek broken off and missing.
