Catalogue Note

For a possibly related late Republican portrait in Copenhagen see F. Johansen, Catalogue Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. Roman Portraits, vol. 1, 1994, p. 26f., no. 2. It has been suggested that the present portrait could date to the Flavian period.
