Description
- A Roman Marble Head of a Dionysiac Child

- Height 13 cm. 5 in.
turned to his right, his smiling face with parted lips, the centrally parted hair arranged in a top-knot, tied in a chignon in back, and bound in a luxuriant wreath of ivy leaves and berries; nose and parts of wreath restored in painted plaster, neck prepared for mounting on a statue or bust.

Condition
As described. Note small chip on proper right cheek filled with painted plaster. Relatively fresh chip on upswept curl above forehead. Smooth surfaces appear to be repolished. One corner of chignon chipped, with small fragment reattached. Minor chips, abrasions and scratches overall.
