  • A Roman Giallo Antico Marble Herm of Dionysos

  • Height 18 cm. 7 1/8 in.
with long beard and moustache of voluted locks, his hair arranged in three rows of corkscrew curls above the forehead and bound in a twisted fillet, the eyes recessed for inlays, two long wavy strands of hair falling onto the shoulders; no restorations.

Condition

Nose missing, top row of curls chipped all along, back carved flat with large shallow chips and areas of heavy incrustation
