Catalogue Note
This landscape study was painted in Haarlem, Holland during the summer of 1907, when Robert Henri and some of his students from the National Academy of Design traveled to the Netherlands. Haarlem was the hometown of Dutch Golden Age portrait painter Frans Hals, whose candid portraits influenced Robert Henri.
