Condition

Oil on canvas. Canvas is lined. SURFACE: In generally good condition aside from scattered pressed craquelure. UNDER UV: Scattered spots of inapinting, most of it on the right half, most of the figure is clean, though there is some crackle fill in on her face, a spot (approximately 1/2 inch diameter) on her true left cheek, crackle fill on her white feather and few spots on her hat.

Glackens met Alice Mumford, known primarily as a painter of portraits, when they were fellow students at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  They became lifelong friends.
