Condition

Condition as per Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. (4/13/2015): Although this work is in beautiful condition, the lining is outdated and is beginning to show problems. The wax adhering the lining is causing acidification of the paint layer, and the cracking in the sky is greatly attributable to this. This would be corrected if the lining is reversed. There is no evident abrasion in the paint layer, and this is certainly a very well preserved picture overall. When viewed under ultraviolet light, there are essentially no restorations of any note. If the lining were adjusted, the condition would be extremely good.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
