Condition
Mounted with perspex clips on black hessian background, behind glass in a wooden frame. Four fine cracks emanating downwards from top edge, and one in lower central edge. Fine hairline cracks within bark areas, worst in centre of painting running longitudinally. Many areas of pigment loss throughout figures, visible in catalogue. Remaining pigment relatively stable. No apparent restoration or repairs. Retains the same condition in which it was sold at Sotheby's many years ago.
