Condition
The canvas has not been lined and is slightly loose on its original stretcher. There are some faint stretcher marks along the upper and lower edge, and areas of drying craquelure where the impasto is thicker with associated small spots of flaking, notably in the purple pigments to the centre left of the composition. Ultra-violet light reveals some very small spots of retouching in the trunk and foliage of the first tree to the left in the foreground. The picture is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
