Condition
Overall very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. Very minor scattered scuffs and surface scratches to the ebonised finish on both chairs, concentrated to the edges of the armrests. One chair with scattered faint surface scuffs to the front the backrest, the longest approximately 10 cm long, and a minor scuff to the lower front portion of the frame, approximately 10 cm long at a diagonal. Two hairlines on two pieces of Mother-of-Pearl which is natural for this material. The mother of pearl inlay has been professionally and sensitively replaced on one chair and is indistinguishable from the other example. Both chairs have been professionally re-ebonised. The horsehair upholstery is newer. Both chairs present very well overall. Both chairs were purchased from Von Zezschwitz, Munich, 28 November, 2005, lots 61 and 62.
