Condition
Overall fair condition. With typical signs of wear consumerate with age and use. There are some cracks along the lines of construction, noticeably where arms join splats. The ebonised surface has rubbed, especially on the arms. The padded seat is later and in good condition.

Catalogue Note
This model is often identified as a design by Edward William Godwin, however the stretcher bars on Godwin's model are positioned directly under the seat and not near the base of the legs as in the offered lot.
