Catalogue Note
Henri Ardant and Co. was located at the former Royal Factory in Limoges at 6 Rue de la Cruveilhier from 1858-78. It is interesting to note the painted technique on the present rare pair of vases which tends to emulate Chinese cloisonné enamels. Another pair of vases, also by Escalier de Cristal are in the permanent collection of the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.
