Catalogue Note
Although Lièvre is most known for his creations inspired by the exotic, being a gifted draftsman, art critic, historian and aesthete, his work embraced most of the historic revival styles of the late 19th century. One can clearly see this taste for historicism in this pair of rare neo-renaissance cabinets. For further information on Edouard Lièvre please see lot 157 in the present sale.
