Description

  • Four light candelabra
  • gilt and patinated bronze
  • French, circa 1820
the scrolling arms supported by a winged female figure on a domed base

Condition

Overall the condition of the candelabra is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age, with dust in the crevices. There is some rubbing to the patina of the woman at the high points. The wings are cast separately and the proper right wing is slightly loose. There is a small area of scratching to the woman's forehead. There is an area of what appears to be wax fill to the woman's proper right shoulder blade. An original casting plug and a metal pin are visible at the woman's back. There is wear to the gilding throughout, including tarnishing, consistent with age. There is some greening and green residue around the candle sockets.
