Overall in very good condition. A beautiful example of this dynamic inkstand model displaying a richly marbled green and russet brown patina. The green favrile glass blown through the bronze reticulations appears original and undisturbed, with no visible condition issues. The favrile glass with some minute air bubble inclusions and open air bubbles, inherent in the making and only visible under very close inspection. The favrile glass with some surface soiling along the perimeter contours. The patinated bronze surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches and rubbing to the patina, and with some ink staining on the cover and recessed upper rim adjacent to the cover consistent with age and gentle use. The interior well and underside of the cover with expected surface wear and discolorations. The inkstand retains a period clear glass inkwell liner (assumingly original) on the interior, which has scattered minute flecks to the inner and outer perimeter rim. Included with the clear glass inkwell is a period plastic pen dabber, a rare inclusion. When viewing this inkstand firsthand the coloration of the patina and favrile glass are more nuanced and slightly less saturated than seen in the catalogue illustration. -----
