Condition
White traces of stabilising preparation in order to fill material losses and to stabilise the surface, especially in the lower left, in the lower right, and in the upper right. A few wears are visible in the backgrounds, as well as cracks scattered on the surface.
Under UV light, scattered repaints appear in the backgrounds and especially on the right shoulder. No visible repaint appear on the face nor the hair.

Merry-Joseph Blondel réalisa avec le soutien de l'Etat La Force a reconquis ses nobles couleurs aux trois mémorables journées de juillet 1830, ou les Trois Glorieuses pour l'Exposition au profit des blessés des 27, 28, 29 juillet 1830 à la galerie du Luxembourg, Paris. Le tableau est aujourd'hui conservé au MUDO-Musée de l'Oise. Notre œuvre, assez différente du tableau achevé, est en revanche proche d'autres études préparatoires connues du tableau, l'une vendue à New York le 4 février 2004, et l'autre vendue le 13 juin 2007 à Paris.
