Condition

Three minor fixing spots appear on the paper. Very good general condition. The visual in the catalogue appears more pink than the drawing is in reality.

Catalogue Note

Edouard-Théophile Blanchard, élève de Picot et Cabanel, était un ami proche d'Henri Regnault et de Georges-Jules Clairin. A tel point qu'ils peignirent ensemble une oeuvre décorative sur panneau exposée à Paris au Salon de 1868.
Blanchard et Regnault concoururent pour le prix de Rome en 1866, qu'Henri Regnault remporta avec sa toile Thétis apportant à Achille les armes forgées par Vulcain.
