Condition
This work is in very good condition. The color of the ink appears to be somewhat faded over time as is inherent to the medium. Each sheet is hinged to ragboard at intervals and framed in a wood frame painted white under Plexiglas. The edges of each sheet are irregular which corresponds to the inherent nature of the paper chosen by the artist. There is some undulation to the paper from the artist's process and application of the aqueous medium. There are scattered minute tears to a few edges, as well as some areas of liquid spotting or handling, which most likely date from the artist's studio.

“I like movement… What I am trying to do is draw a certain kind of energy, that’s basically what the good calligraphers do.” (Brice Marden, interviewed by John Yau in Exh. Cat., Zurich, Daros Exhibitions, Brice Marden, June 2003 - January 2004, p. 59)
