each globular body with three circular medallions enclosing a confronting dragon and phoenix amidst fiery clouds contesting a 'flaming pearl',  the neck reserved with a pair of 'magpie and prunus' rectangular panels, all against a vibrant yellow ground painted with colorful double-gourds, the base with an apocryphal Qianlong seal mark, wood stands (4)

Provenance

House of Props, California, acquired between 1940 and 1960.

Condition

One has restoration to one of the dragon and phoenix panels and adjacent yellow ground - it has been well done. The mark is in underglaze-blue. The other is in good condition. The mark is painted in blue enamel and has smudged in the firing, erasing part of the three of the characters.
